The North end of Maui offers some pretty rugged scenes. The dramatic coastline is this artist's dream. Nakalele point has a steep decent down to a blow hole that offers quite a display of shooting water when the ocean is churned up. I really enjoy watching the water pound the coastline. It's constant ebb and flow is an endless feast for my eyes. After studying the motion of the waves as they hit the rocks and taking a ton of photos, I couldn't wait to get back to my studio to paint what I saw. I'm now doing a series of seascape paintings that reflect the relationship between the ocean and land.

Darice Machel McGuire lived on the beautiful Island of Maui from 2012 until the Lahaina fire on August 8th, 2023, destroyed her art studio. She and her husband have relocated to Grass Valley, California. They purchased a commercial building to reestablish their art studios. McGuire's Hawaii and California landscape oil and acrylic paintings are gracing the homes and offices of collectors nationally and internationally. McGuire's choice of subject matter comes from her love of nature and all that surrounds her on a daily basis. She paints in large and small formats.
