Maui offers spectacular sunsets all year long. I feel so fortunate to be able to see most of them. The colors and romance of our sunsets attracts 100s of people to line up at the sunset hour along Front Street, all armed with their cameras to capture that moment in time.
This scene is one of my "Sunset series". The island in the background is Lanai as seen from Lahaina on Front Street. I've changed my color pallet to enhance the feeling of drama and romance.

Darice Machel McGuire lived on the beautiful Island of Maui from 2012 until the Lahaina fire on August 8th, 2023, destroyed her art studio. She and her husband have relocated to Grass Valley, California. They purchased a commercial building to reestablish their art studios. McGuire's Hawaii and California landscape oil and acrylic paintings are gracing the homes and offices of collectors nationally and internationally. McGuire's choice of subject matter comes from her love of nature and all that surrounds her on a daily basis. She paints in large and small formats.
