The humpback whales that come visit the Hawaii islands each year are a great site to see. each year of living here, we have gone out on a whale watching excursion. This year we had the pleasure of going on one of the small rubber boats that seat no more then 18 people. Part of the fun and excitement is getting wet from the splashing waves as the boat flies over them.
This painting is in honor of this years excursion. I call him Maui Humpback.

Darice Machel McGuire lived on the beautiful Island of Maui from 2012 until the Lahaina fire on August 8th, 2023, destroyed her art studio. She and her husband have relocated to Grass Valley, California. They purchased a commercial building to reestablish their art studios. McGuire's Hawaii and California landscape oil and acrylic paintings are gracing the homes and offices of collectors nationally and internationally. McGuire's choice of subject matter comes from her love of nature and all that surrounds her on a daily basis. She paints in large and small formats.
