Description
DAY 94.Lisa’s 100 Day Painting Challenge
This original, brush activated EW Inkwork of a monk, a tree and a moon was inspired by the Cambodian Buddhist monks who band trees with orange cloths to encourage social awareness of the perils of deforestation. Buddhist monks honor Trees, among them, the bodhi, by ordaining them in ceremony and banding them in a spiritually significant, saffron-orange to encourage scientific and spiritual significance of trees and their peril in the wake of decades of deforestation. When Anne Warrenton posted a surreal contest with criteria for three items...a Man, a Tree and a Moon...this image immediately filled my heArt. I LOVE TREES ... Ever since I was a child growing up in The Paper City with its “blocks”, factories and only a few chestnut and maple trees scattered in “the park”, I eagerly awaited my overnight stay at my pépère’s home on fifteen acres of mixed ecosystem ADVENTURE! There was Meadow, Woodland, wetland and manicured lawn and gardens. I loved both flowers and TREES, TREES and flowers!!...and I still do. I too, gratefully and prayerfully TOUCH my sugar maples, red leaf and pin oak, white pine and Frazier fir. I FEEL their energies, hear their rustling secrets and still collect their autumn leaves to study their colour patterns! I thank them for their providence, shade, beauty and life giving oxygen. I Resonate with their Presence at the Love level.
Both monk and tree stand beneath the rays of a magical Moon in communion with their cosmic “roots” of Starstuff and surreal beauty. When is the last time you mindfully TOUCHED?
