Ocean life is an amazing thing to watch. Living on Maui offers me lots of opportunity to do just that, watch. This painting combines two of my favorite ocean entertainments, waves and sea turtles ( know as honu ). Can you spot the honu?
Everything about the ocean is a wondrous mystery to me. Life beneath the sea is a world of such vast unknown. The ocean is a huge body of saltwater that covers about 71 percent of the Earth’s surface. More than 80 percent of the ocean has never been mapped, explored, or even seen by humans. It is unknown how many different creatures and plants are living and thriving in it.
Here on Maui, I get the opportunity to watch a tiny fraction of of this great mystery form time to time. Being able to paint it is a challenge I like to give myself. Since the ocean is constantly changing, never looking the same from second to second, I'll have more inspiration than I'll ever know what to do with.

She and her husband have relocated to Grass Valley, California. They purchased a commercial building to reestablish their art studios. McGuire's Hawaii and California landscape oil and acrylic paintings are gracing the homes and offices of collectors nationally and internationally.
