This original colour pencil landscape began as a rainbow abstract of alternating secondary colours and lines of colour movement in a Quadriptych Exercise of the late Robert Genn’s “Six Exercises in Magic” tutorial offered on his “ The Painter’s Keys”. Whenever I encounter an artist block, I find this exercise and repeat it until I FEEL my aesthetic muse reenliven. When I added the Jagged slate rubbings and diagonal slashes of magenta and tangerine, the sun magically appeared to shimmer upon the calm pond waters at sunrise. This study was developed with three others simultaneously...check out my Rainbow Series Collection...three of four have been captured in differing phases of development for contest purposes and voyeur enjoyment! While this piece is a ‘man and Nature’ scene it definitely appeals to the avid fisherman; the original is already on my best friend’s husband’s workbench being framed as he hinted three times for this one. Happy “Just Because” Joe! This is the finished glaze whose tranquility makes for beautifully Coloured product art!...also available for face mask art!
NOTE: Within the controversial distinction of CP “drawing” or “painting” lies artist definition. My definition: when the surface is ENTIRELY burnished, I classify as a Painting; when any exposed Paper Is part of the composition or background, I classify as a drawing. I render both.
